Lysigin® is a lysed culture of highly antigenic polyvalent somatic antigen containing phage types I, II, III, IV and miscellaneous groups of Staph aureus. Lysigin® is recommended for the vaccination of healthy, susceptible cattle as an aid in the prevention of mastitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus.

  • Contains five different phage types of Staph aureus.
  • Includes capsular serotypes 5, 8, 336.
  • Reduces chronicity of infection when a vaccination program starts at an early age.
  • Allows cows opportunity to reach their genetic potential for milk production.

Store out of direct sunlight at a temperature between 35-45°F (2-7°C). Avoid freezing. Shake well before using. Use entire contents when first opened.

Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.

Anaphylactoid reactions may occur. Antidote: Epinephrine

Using aseptic technique, inject 5 mL intramuscularly.

Repeat in 14 days. Follow with a single 5 mL booster dose each 5 to 6 months. Start vaccinating all heifers at 6 months of age.
