ALPHA-CD™
Alpha-CD is recommended for  vaccination of healthy, susceptible cattle as an aid in reduction of enterotoxemia caused by  Cl perfringens  Types C and D toxins. Immunity may be provided against the beta and epsilon toxins elaborated by  Cl perfringens  Type B. This immunity is derived from the combination of Type C (beta) and Type D (epsilon) fractions.

Description

Clostridium Perfringens Types C & D Toxoid. Alpha-CD™ toxoid is prepared from chemically detoxified cultures of the above organisms with the special DD-2™ adjuvant to maximize immune response. Contains gentamicin as a preservative.

Dosage & Administration

Using aseptic technique inject a single 2 mL dose Sub-Q. A 2 mL booster dose is recommended annually. Calves vaccinated under 3 months of age should be revaccinated at weaning or at 4 to 6 months of age.


Precautions

Store at 35° - 45° F (2° - 7° C). Avoid freezing. Shake well before using.
Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 60 days of slaughter. Swelling at the injection site may occur. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur.
Antidote: Epinephrine.

Warning

Animal inoculation only. Accidental injection in humans can cause serious local reactions. Contact a physician immediately if accidental injection occurs.
